Teucrium chamaedrys L. s.l. Two subspecies are recorded in Italy: subsp. chamaedrys and subsp. pectinatum Rech. f. (the latter taxon is considered endemic for Italy, but it also considered doubtfully indipendent taxon).
According to Greuter et al. (MED-CHECKLIST), three subsp. are recorded for Greece:
Teucrium chamaedrys subsp. chamaedrys Teucrium chamaedrys subsp. lydium O. Schwarz Teucrium chamaedrys subsp. olympicum Rech. fil. (this is endemic for Greece).
However, I do not know the characters that distinguish these subspecies. I suppose that an analitic key may be found in Flora Europea (Tutin et al., 1964-1980).
Thank you! I had no idea where to look for it. I found it at the side of the road on the island Aegina / Greece. Joanna
Flora Europea includes all species recorded in Europe (1964-1980) and the analitic key for their identification. The volumes may be found in any university library.
