I doubt that it is possible to identify this weevil species from Malta from images, However the pattern looks quite distinctive and as two were found on Malva this might well be the host. It was found near hotel Corinthia Palace, Attard on 21 April 2015. Specimen c 8mm long.
If anyone is able to suggest an identification it would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks as always
